MLW Roundup: Konnan’s crew becomes double tag champs, short films for Fatu & Holliday, more!

It’s time to go back to the world of MLW for a ton of fresh news from the promotion that never sleeps.

We’ll start with Konan’s crew of 5150 to become a double champion. Danny Rivera (aka Danny Limelight) and formerly Slice Boogie won the MLW title from Los Parks. The 5150 then traveled to Puerto Rico to win the IWA Tag Team Championship.

Don’t Sleep at 5150. It quickly became one of MLW’s most entertaining acts. Rivera and Boogie are aces in the ring, and promotions are blood.

MLW debuted in a new short series, Decoded. The first was Jacob Fatou. The video provided an interesting glimpse into the humble side of Samoan Werewolf now that Contra has disintegrated. Fatu has dropped a neat little nugget that his father and uncle(s) married to two sisters to have many wrestling children in Samoa.

We all know Richard Holiday is a marketing genius. He has already developed his own brand of coffee to buy, Rarefied Air. As times change, this means that Holiday needs to evolve. In an AirPod God short film, he decides to drop his signature AirPods.

MLW re-signed Davey Richards and Mads Krugger to multi-year deals. Krueger’s move was moved by matchmaker Cesar Duran, despite the objections of league officials. Trust continues to be shattered by Kruger’s role in the hostile takeover of the Contra unit. When Contra was apparently disbanded after a war room loss to Alexander Hammerstone’s side, Duran took the opportunity to sign the free agent. There is no doubt that Doran has sinister motives in this move. A man the size of a Kruger can be very helpful in activating violent persuasion.

Kruger’s next mission is not an easy one. He will be going toe-to-toe with former Contra teammate Jacob Fatou. The two giants exchange hats in the wake of the War Room defeat. Now, they’ll settle the score at Blood & Thunder in Dallas, Texas on January 21.

Other matches announced for Blood & Thunder include:

  • MLW World Heavyweight Championship in The number of falls anywhere: Alexander Hammerstone (c) vs. Pagano

MLW opened the new year with a new mini-series for MLW Azteca. The stories follow the adventures of the MLW roster under the direction of Cesar Duran. The show was filmed in Tijuana and features a great mix of Mexican talent from lucha libre. Episodes 1 and 2 are currently available on MLW’s YouTube channel.

If you’ve ever wanted to hop on an MLW train, this is just as good a time as any, especially if you’ve enjoyed Lucha Underground. Let’s take a look at the quick results for the last two episodes of MLW Fusion ALPHA Leads to MLW Azteca for speed.

MLW Fusion Alpha Episode 12 results (here):

  • Defeat Aramis Cedar to win a bag full of cash, courtesy of Cesar Doran. Ares was flanked by Holliday and Dr. Dax. They distracted Ares for the win via a leg trap driver.
  • Willow Nightingale aims to raise the bar for the women’s division in MLW. As Holidead continues to criticize her, it’s time to bring the fight back to the dark side.
  • Emilio Sparks gave a showdown interview to Myron Reed asking questions about the decline in his career. The lights went out, and then Carly Perez appeared. Offered to Reid lifeline.
  • Alexander Hammerston is attacked by Matanza Doran (also known as Jeff Cope). They fought backstage through different sectors. Later, Richard Holliday spoke with Alicia Attot to gift her a cup of coffee from the family covenant. Hammerston and Matanza rushed onto the scene where Hammer smashed the mug over Matanza’s head.
  • NZO defeated Matt Cross. NZO talked about a big match as a tough guy, then resorted to deception for victory. NZO was beaten and bloodied. He held the ring’s apron as the cross dragged him into the ring. While the referee was trying to restore order, NZO kicked a cross at the cojones. NZO got a W with an inverted face hit. Next, NZO attacked KC Navarro with Razor’s edge in the center ring. NZO was upset that Navarro looked at him.
  • Defeated 5150 Los Parks to win the MLW tag team titles at the Philly Street Battle. Papa L.A. Park was absent to start the match. Like his sons in the game. LA Park did a double magic with LA Park Jr. To throw Danny Rivera. The murder ran to a pound on L.A. Park and a brawl to the back. In the end, Slice Boogie knocked Hijo de LA Park through a table. 5150 LA Park Jr. finished team. on the teamwork DVD to become a new champion.
  • Alex Kane and Mr. Thomas were stopped in a carriage. Calvin attacked Tankman, they sped away from the scene.

end of the season MLW Fusion Alpha Episode 13 results (here):

  • Conan and 5150 celebrate their tag title win. 5150 were hungrier and did what they had to do. Bring them the best competitors. Time to pop Hennessy, hit the clubs, spread the love, and get back to work.
  • Calvin Tankman has been arrested for assaulting Alex Kane. Later, Kane held a press conference in which he discussed the reason for making the accusations. While Tankman is sitting in his cell, all he hears is Bomay as Kane builds his empire. In the next clip, Tankman answered by phone. Tankman plans to get his hands on Kane in the ring once he’s released.
  • Holidead defeated Willow Nightingale. Holidead had Dr. Dax by her side, so she brought Willow Blue Meanie up on the field. The match was disrupted with Willow and Meanie hitting to attack and dance. Ares came out of nowhere for a landing flight to Menai. Holidead took advantage of the confusion for a dual-hook driver.
  • Cesar Doran’s phone call was cut off by the 5150 celebration. Doran ranted, “Stop! I think you should pour one for the jiffy.” Drinks were shared. Doran brings in the right people for the 5150 Challenge. They better not be disappointed.
  • Von Erichs was chomping at the Tag Tournament in Dallas. It’s been 40 years since the Von Erich family fought for a title in Dallas. It’s time for girl and silence 5150.

  • Los Angeles Park defeated the murder in a slow fight. Park escaped the cutter to hit a spear to win.
  • EJ Nduka’s background life story hype video. The judge is clever and brutal.

  • Video honoring MLW photographer Charlie Brozzi with stories from ECW. A great look at the production side.

  • Tajiri held the MLW Middleweight Championship against Atsuki Oyagi of a circuit in Japan. The competitive competition was ended by a jogger and a buzz saw kick.
  • Richard Holiday approached a spin around the NFTs. It is noteworthy that the beloved boy was sitting next to Alicia Atout. Doran asked Holiday’s attorney/father to pass the information on to his co-worker, Bud Heffy. Gnarls Garvin was next on the show Fight for Money. Doran appreciated the ambition and will provide future opportunities. Another was Alexander Hammerstone. Grab a rotation of the jacket. Sending Matanza after him was a wrong move. If you cross Double Doran with Hammerman again, it won’t work out well with the Giphy.

As for the latest news in the MLW report, Tajiri has a busy schedule ahead. If Japan’s Buzzsaw can hold the MLW middleweight belt at Blood & Thunder against Myron Reed and an obscure opponent, he will then travel to defend the title in the UK against Jody Fleisch. MLW will have cameras on site recording the action.
