A head-to-head encounter was escalating undefeated by Jesus “Mono” Ramos and Vladimir Hernandez, as well as former Second Division champion Luis Neri and undefeated Carlos Castro, as they discussed matches taking place on pay-per-view FOX Sports PBC starting at 9 p.m. ET/ 6 p.m. Pacific Time.

The press conference also featured welterweight competitor Abel Ramos and Luke Santamaria, as well as Ryan “Cowboy” Karl and Omar “El Relamago” Juarez, entering the ring in a PBC move for FOX and FOX Deportes beginning at 7PM ET/4PM PT , before making a pay-per-view.

Tickets for the live event, promoted by TGB Promotions, are now on sale and available at axs.com.

Here’s what the fighters said Thursday from Michelob ULTRA Arena:

Jesus Ramos

“Being on pay-per-view now, this is an even more important opportunity for me, and I’m thankful for that. I also have to thank Hernandez for giving me the fight after beating Julian Williams. That makes this a crucial fight for me.”

“And that’s a step in the right direction. My team takes over, and I have to run my part in the ring. I have a strong opponent in front of me, and I’m ready for what he has to offer.”

“I love that he’s durable. He has a rough style and that makes for an exciting fight. It’s a challenge and I love challenges. There will be a lot of action on this card.

“He likes to go forward, so I need to keep him out of the way and control him with my hit. I also think I can do damage to my left. Either way, I’ll be willing to adapt.”

“In the last two fights, I’ve grown a lot. Not all controversies will end with a knockout. I know how to adapt and how to make the chest. If I have to do it on Saturday night, I’ll be ready.

Being in this position means a lot. My family worked hard for this. None of this was given to us. We had to work. This makes it sweeter.

“I think beating Hernandez will make a huge impact. He just beat one of the best players in the division, and I’m ready to show what I can do.”

Vladimir Hernandez

“I’ll be looking for whatever he brings. I’m ready to put in an exciting fight, but we’ll also be ready for whatever goes into the ring. I’m up to that challenge.”

“I had a massive sparring with Southpaws in training. This will be a back and forth, and the fans will enjoy it very much. I will give as well as I take.

“I am very excited to have the opportunity to be on this stage and with such a card. I would like to thank my entire team and Ramos for giving me the opportunity to shine.”

Louis Neri

“I am delighted to be here. We are looking forward to a big fight on Saturday night. We have studied Carlos Castro closely and have seen clearly what he likes to do. We are ready for any challenges ahead.

“For this fight, I was able to prepare much longer than I had with Brandon Figueroa. It allowed me to focus on my opponent, and the preparation went very smoothly.

“We’ll see on Saturday if he can withstand my strength. I’ve studied him closely, and he’s a great fighter. It remains to be seen on Saturday what happens, but patterns make fights, and I think his style matches mine. I’ll do whatever I can to raise my hand.” Saturday night.

“I’m here to fight the best. We’re here at the highest level and I’m not here to fight anyone below that level. I don’t dodge anyone. They gave me Castro, and I didn’t dodge, so I accepted. I’m ready. He’s the third undefeated fighter in a row I’ve faced, and that excites me.” “.

Carlos Castro

“I feel great. I want to thank God for this opportunity, along with my entire team and Lewis Neri, for this wonderful opportunity to meet him in the ring on Saturday night.

“These are the fights I always dreamed of as a little kid. You dream of being at these stages and against fighters like Lewis Neri. He is a fighter who was at this level, but I think it’s time to show that I deserve to be at this stage and prove to myself and everyone that I deserve to be I will be in these fights.

“I learned a lot about myself against Oscar Escandon. I knew I had to be patient, and I had to be ready to roll as soon as the bell rang. Escandon is a strong fighter, and that was my first fight with my new team, plus I was going to be discharged. Now, it’s time Time to shine.

“I think I have a lot to prove and show that Arizona has a lot of talented fighters. I’ve known the Ramos family for a while since I was a little kid, and I’ve known Carvajal for a while. It’s a blessing to be sharing the same arena against different opponents on Saturday night.”

“As always, you gear up hard and you prepare hard. But I think this is going to be a bit of a mental fight. Once the bell rings, he steps in to knock your head off, but we are mentally prepared for that. On Saturday night, you’re going to have an action packed fight, and the best guy might win.”

“Louis Neri has proven to be one of the best, and I still consider him one of the best. I expect him to come out stronger than he’s ever been, so I’m ready for that. I think the victory over Lewis Nery should put me in a title shot.”

Apple Ramos

“I’m so excited. I want to thank all the media for being here. I had a great training camp. I’m glad I got this bottom card. I was preparing for Josecito Lopez, but our job is to fight.”

“Josecito was a fighter in the field of pressing. Santamaria has more boxing skills. We are all boxers, and every time we compete, we always deal with different styles. It’s kind of a change, but the game plan remains the same.

“I saw my nephew Jesus fighting in front of me. When we fought on the Andy Ruiz card against Chris Areola, I was nervous watching him. He gets more nervous when that happens. Fighting first is better because you are more relaxed and you can sit back and enjoy the fight.”

“I want to keep the momentum going. I feel like I’ve made a lot of progress in the game of boxing. My boxing ability shows my experience and all the fights I’ve been in.

“I’ve always had the ability to boxing and that style of pressing. I think mixing it up with both works for me. It worked against Omar Figueroa and he worked for me in training. My technique continues to evolve. The pressure will be good, and like I said, I have the ability to box as well.” So I’m looking forward to doing both.”

Luke Santamaria

“I feel lucky. I’m excited to be on this card with so many great fighters. When history started getting close, we pushed it a little bit more. When we got the call, we got even more problematic.”

“I have to stay on my toes. If we can stay outside, I think we’ll be fine. Ramos is a fighter who presses and doesn’t get tired of throwing punches. No matter what he brings, I have to keep adapting.”

“I feel like I got a lot of experience in the ring with different opponents. So the experience I get makes me a better fighter. There was a time when I was struggling to get into a brawl. All of a sudden, I started fighting tougher opponents on bigger stages, so I feel lucky” .

Ryan Carl

“I feel great. I feel strong. There’s no other word for it. We’ve worked hard and had a long camp. It’s all about working hard. Billing skills. We’ll go out, and we’ll do our best.

“I’m so excited. It’s a huge opportunity for me. As usual, I’m going to take it and not waste it. It’s going to be an entertaining and exciting card from top to bottom. Please tune in and watch us live on FOX, then proceed to pay-per-view, and you’ll be happy.”

“In the amateurs, I’m trapped. A lot of people don’t think I can box, but I’ve had feet for days. I can do what I need to do. It’s hard for me sometimes because I like to fight, I like to be sexy, I like to show. I can. To do all of these things. It’s just the excitement of it all. I think I’m back to my boxing skill, but we focus on the “W” more than anything else. I guarantee I’ll still put in a show.

“You will have a gunfight. That is what we have talked about, and we have used that word a lot. We will have ice in our veins, and we will be ready to take care of business.”

Omar Juarez

“I am so lucky to be here. I am excited to be here again in Vegas and am ready to display all my hard work and dedication.

“I know my opponent will come and try to take everything from me. We are fighters. But I am physically, mentally and emotionally in the best shape of my life. This camp was probably the best camp I’ve been in so far.”

“I’m not a one-dimensional fighter, I can box, I can brawl. So whatever my opponent brings to the table, I’ll be prepared for it.”

“It’s going to be a big showdown in Texas. I’m excited. I’m lucky to have this opportunity. I’m going to take full advantage of it. It’s going to be very action packed and exciting. Like I said, whatever my opponent brings to the table, I’ll be ready.”
