Srisaket Sor Rungvisai faces Carlos Cuadras in a rematch at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona on Saturday, February 5th. The pair win in a scheduled twelve-round showdown with a vacant WBC super flyweight title on the streak. Boxing fans can watch the fight live on DAZN.
The broadcast date of the Rungvisai vs Cuadras 2 match in the UK, Australia and Thailand is Sunday, February 6th.
The duo first met for the same title in May 2014 in Mexico. Quadras seized the belt by unanimous technical decision after sustaining an accidental head trauma.

There is more than just a WBC crown on the Rungvisai line (50-5-1 43 KOs) and Cuadras (39-4-1 27 KOs), with the likely winner facing the winner in the March match between Juan Francisco Estrada and Roman “Chocolateto” Gonzalez, They set up more fireworks in the always-sexy 115-pound division.
Rongivsai heads into the match after winning three wins in Thailand after clashing with Estrada as he relinquished the WBC crown he is fighting for Quadras. Winning the rematch in Phoenix would see the 35-year-old win his third green and gold belt and nearly nine years since he first claimed that crown.
Quadras ended Rongavsay’s reign on that occasion and the Mexican made six defenses before Chocolatito took the title in California in September 2016. It’s the second time the 33-year-old has attempted to reclaim the throne and comes after his last game. A battle for the belt as defending champion Estrada fell in the third round of his defense before the champion was victorious in Mexico in October 2020.

Low tag Rungvisai vs Cuadras 2 is led by lightweight flyweight sensation Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez as he approaches a world title contender. Rodriguez (14-0 10 KOs) sent Jose Burgos in style through four rounds on his last outing in Fresno in October, and WBA #2 and WBO #4 will be looking to cement his claim to world titles against a soon-to-be-named opponent.
There’s more World Championship action on the card as Jimmy Mitchell makes her first WBA welterweight title defense against Carly Skelly. Mitchell (7-0-2 4 KOs) secured the belt in October in England by defeating Shannon Courtenay by majority decision, with only the belt on the American’s goal line after then-champion Courtenay failed to achieve the weight. After winning the belt at Liverpool, Mitchell will defend the title against a Liverpool fighter, as Skelly (4-0-1) battles for her first world title after winning the WBC International Super bantamweight title at home against Dorota Norek in October, a year after a tie with Amy Timlin for the Commonwealth title.
Raymond Ford defends his IBF featherweight title for the second time against Edward Vazquez. Ford (10-0-1 6 KOs) impressed in his first defense in New York in November, stopping Felix Carabello in eight rounds to retain the belt he landed in England in August via Reece Bellotti’s third round KO. The unbeaten (11-0 3 KOs) Texan Vasquez will be looking to end Ford’s reign in Phoenix, and the 26-year-old is battling for his first title on his 12th professional tour.
Aaron Aponte (4-0 KOs), the latest signing at Matchroom in the US, is looking to extend his undefeated start to the pay ranks versus unbeaten Canadian Louis Jordan (2-0 1 KO), talented light heavyweight Khalil Coe (1-0-1 1 KO) also meets the Canadian opposition in the form of Stewart Towardzyk (1-0-1 1 KO) and there is a big stage for two Arizona fighters, weighed down by Adam Stewart (12-1-1 8 KOs) and middleweight Elijah Garcia (9-0). 8 KOs).

Rungvisai and Cuadras lead the event that was initially slated to take place at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona, but logistical and operational issues mean overnight hopping spots but they remain in Arizona and a short distance from the downtown Phoenix Suns home. It’s a return to the Matchroom where Daniel Jacobs defeated Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in December 2019.
A clash between Jesse Vargas and Liam Smith was scheduled to top the bill, but the first test positive for COVID forced him to postpone, with the fight rescheduled.
