In the evening’s main event, former Unified Welterweight Champion Keith Thurman faces former Lightweight Champion Mario Barrios. The Twelve-Card Tournament is topped live on pay-per-view. Abel Ramos was originally scheduled to face Josecito Lopez as part of the Thurman vs Barrios pay-per-view event, but Lopez was injured at training camp and forced to withdraw. The match was replaced by Jesus Ramos against Vladimir Hernandez.

Ramos (27-4-2, 21 KOs) is part of the Casa Grande, Arizona boxing family, which includes his nephew, rookie undefeated competitor Jesus Ramos. The 30-year-old Ramos has earned a reputation as a solid boxer who never backs down from a fight and gives his best. He turned the tables on Omar Figueroa, Jr. when he went from toe to toe and forced Figueroa to resign his chair in his last fight on 1 May. A taste of drama when he scored a TKO victory over Bryant Perella in the final seconds of their fight in 2020.


The 24-year-old Santamaria (12-2-1, 7 KOs) entered the ring after securing a unanimous decision over League Two champions Devon Alexander last August. Santamaria had previously dropped his decision on prospective player Paul Kroll in October 2020, after an August 2020 victory over veteran contender Michal Fox saw him drop Fox in the first round of their fight. The Garden Grove, California native also has a decision on Willie Jones and tied with Marquis Taylor in his 2019 competitions. Santamaria has not lost in 10 matches since his first loss before facing Kroll, and his only other defeat came by a four-round decision in his third professional game in 2015.

Known for his action-packed style, Karl (19-3, 12 KOs) came back from a 2020 defeat to former world champion Mario Barrios in August, beating Edgar Ramirez by unanimous decision in their eight-round match. The 30-year-old Milan, Texas, has won four of his last five fights overall and has a decision win over Karim Martin on the head by a knockout over Kevin Watts to avenge one of his losses.

22-year-old Juarez (12-1, 5 KOs) returned to winning streak in September, knocking out Jairo Lopez en route to a unanimous victory. Juarez recovered after losing a slim majority decision to All Rivera in a thrilling match in June 2021. Born in Brownsville, Texas, Juarez was a prominent amateur who made waves outside the ring by dedicating himself to giving back to the state’s youth with motivational speaking and earning recognition from the Senate Texas and the Texas House of Representatives for his efforts.

In a non-television action, Kent Cruz (16-0-1, 10 KO) and Enrico Gogogia (13-0, 8 KO) meet in an eight-round duel, and lightweight, Anthony Koba (2-0-1, 1 KO) faces Teammate undefeated Jose Gonzalez (3-0, 3 KOs) in a six-round bout and welterweight Jon Rincon competes (5-0, 2 KOs) in a six-round attraction match.

The final line-up will be the sons of two-time world champion Fernando Vargas entering the ring, with Fernando Vargas Jr. (4-0, 4 KOs) entering the middleweight duel, while Amadou Vargas (3-0, 2) KOs) fights in a welterweight bout Four-round shuttlecock.
