WWE Raw preview (Jan. 17, 2022): Orton has a tough decision to make

raw Broadcast tonight (January 17) with a live show from the Buck Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This is the third raw An episode in four weeks building towards Royal rumble On January 29.

Randy Orton has a tough choice

Alpha Academy shocked the world last week when they defeated RK-Bro to win the raw Team title tag. The end of the match saw Randy Orton go down, which was a surprising turn of events considering that not shiny Riddle is always the down guy for their team.

There is now a lot of uncertainty regarding the future of the RK-Bro, which highlights Orton’s shoulders squarely. Riddle adores his partner and will definitely want to continue his rematch against Otis and Chad Gable so the RK-Bro can get their belts back. But it’s hard to tell where Randy’s head is. He’s always been somewhat reluctant to deal with Riddle’s endless bullshit, but Orton has put up with it for a long time because it led to a championship gold around his waist. Now that he’s no longer the Tag Team Champion, Randy may decide it’s a good time to focus his attention on the singles and title competition WrestleMania 38.

With the Royal Rumble about to turn, Orton has already won two of those matches in his career and will be the champion in his hometown of St. Louis that night, Viper has every reason to announce the bout. He’s all for himself at the Royal Rumble, which means Riddle may have an RKO waiting for him later this month.

As far as tonight’s episode of raw Worried, Randy will have to make a big decision about the future of the RK-Bro. Is he willing to commit to Riddle as his partner moving forward, or is it time to move on?

The rest of the title scene

Comedian Brock Lesnar disrespected Bobby Lashley last week. Former Hurt Business members Cedric Alexander & Shelton Benjamin attempted to ambush All Mighty afterwards, which turned out to be a huge mistake; Bob let go of all his frustrations with these workers. Lesnar has not been announced raw Tonight, which means MVP and Lashley will have the ring to themselves while trash talk about the absent WWE Champion. Lashley will likely explain why he is so confident he will take this belt from Lesnar in Royal rumble. If Alexander and Benjamin interrupt him again, Lashley may have to crush those woods in a handicap official match.

Dodrop won a Triple Threat match last week against Bianca Beller and Liv Morgan to take the win raw Women’s Championship Match against Becky Lynch V Royal rumble. Beller was close to winning the match, but Lynch made sure to prevent that from happening, probably because she didn’t want anything to do with EST and thought Dou was an easier opponent. It’s hard to blame Becky for this reasoning, considering that Beller has defeated Doddrop all three times she’s faced her. raw in December. Lynch is going to grab the mic tonight and think about it Royal rumble Discount. If WWE intends to give Doudrop another win before the Rumble, Liv Morgan could become a game to chew on.

the United States Champion Damien Priest has officially announced the Royal Rumble match. He teamed up with Street Profits in a losing bid last week against Robert Roode, Apollo Crews and Dolph Ziggler. It’s doubtful that the outcome of the match would have any implications for the Priest’s title given that Angelo Dawkins is the man to be pinned by Ziggler, and Chris has already had a string of recent matches with this dirty man.

Queen Zelina Vega and Carmella are still Women’s tag team champions. They didn’t have much to do last week because the only other women’s team in WWE collapsed when Nikki ASH turned on Rhea Ripley. Vega and Carmella will likely forget about defending their titles for the time being, and instead look to winning the Women’s Royal Rumble match.

Dana Brooke and Reggie worked well together to fend off Tamina and a handful of other employers looking for a piece of Brooke. 24/7 address. Unfortunately for Reggie, he came across Omos by chance backstage last week and pissed off the huge guy, which means they likely have a match tonight. Reggie will be obliterated because Omos is the best wrestler raw In kayfabe, though, most fans can see smoke and mirrors and understand that he’s actually one of the worst wrestlers in WWE.

Other things to watch

Edge & Beth Phoenix has all the momentum on their side now in their feud against Miz & Maryse. Maryse went out with her husband last week to make it clear that she wasn’t excited to compete in a mixed match in Royal rumble. There seems to be a talk show segment almost every week in this story. Are any of these wrestlers interested in appearing on a wrestling show to actually wrestle?

The former WWE Champion Big E has yet to win a televised match in 2022. If WWE has plans to win the Royal Rumble, it might be a good idea to remind people that he is a formidable threat.

– Last week’s match between AJ Styles and Austin Theory didn’t get the hang of it thanks to Grayson Waller. Now that Styles has apparently moved on from his NXT job, he’ll probably get a second match with Theory tonight.

– Finn Balor and Kevin Owens weren’t on last week’s episode of raw The Royal Rumble match has yet to be announced. Balor missed three consecutive episodes of raw, which raises questions about whether he will even be booked for the upcoming Premium Live event.

– Seth Rollins has bigger fish to fry on Smackdown From raw Now, but rawA three-hour period that is too long will not fill itself. Maybe Uncle Sethi will have a setting match of some sort tonight as he prepares to fight Universal Champion Roman Reigns in Royal rumble.

– I was looking forward to Alexa Bliss returning to raw last week. WWE then reintroduced Bliss by showing that she’s in therapy and still has some supernatural abilities. It immediately brought back memories of how awful many of her clips were last year. On the bright side, at least she didn’t have that stupid Lily doll with her. Bliss should be back for more treatment tonight, so we’ll see if she makes any progress on the road to recovery.

What are you going to look for? raw tonight?
