Let’s go to it.
WWE Royal rumble predictions
Royal rumble for women
Gino Morsko: That’s what I’m thinking – Alexa Bliss comes back as a goddess and wins it all. Then she moves on to SmackDown to wrestle Charlotte Flair. Choose: Alexa Bliss
Sean Reuter: Just because this year’s “By The Numbers” video noted how long it’s been since we’ve had a back-to-back encounter with the winners, and (don’t listen to Cain) Edge hasn’t won the Men’s Rumble…Choose: Bianca Belair
Kyle Decker: If Ronda Rousey was in the Rumble, she probably would win. But before the rumors of her winning, I had a name in my head that I decided to pick as a black horse. This is Lita. The Women’s Rumble is only about five years old, and a lot of the women who deserved to win it never had a chance. With no clear winner this year, why not let one of these badass women out before you win it. Plus, she has quite a bit of a hit with already SmackDown heroine Charlotte Flair. Not that I want to see Charlotte get another match with a former women’s star outside of other women on the roster, but the seed for this match has been set. Choose: Lita
Claire Elizabeth: I hate picking wide open matches like this, especially when I’m so confident of all the fun options (Mickey “More Forbiddener Door” James, Lita, Nikki Bella, even Summer Rae as part of a weird crypto promotion, he’d be sad but it looks like WWE Alley right) he won’t win, so there’s no “Oh, I’m going to share my claim on this wildcard!” Joy to be here. And I don’t want a choice that will make me sad, so I’ll stick to Sensational Sean here… Choose: Bianca Belair
Cain what night: Babyface Ronda Rousey will join the match and eventually remove Flair to ensure she is not booed. It might be time for twice in the main triple threat event at WrestleMania twice in a lifetime. Choose: Ronda Rousey
Stella Cheeks: grumble grumble grumble Choose: Ronda Rousey
Marcus Benjamin: So before rumors spread about the return of WWE’s golden child, Ronda Rousey, I was involved with Bianca Belair. Especially since WWE told us the same thing during their last Triple Threat match for the number one contender raw. But, alas, I’m going with the newly lovable-faced Rhonda coming in late, winning late, pointing to the sign, and getting Becky Lynch one-on-one she wants more than her daughter wants food. Choose: Ronda Rousey
Royal rumble for men
Gino Morsko: I could have seen them start the night off with a world title match and then have Rollins pull the double-task with an iron man performance that gets him a bit more childish on his way to winning it all. Choose: Seth Rollins
Sean Reuter: Could there be something to betting lines? Probably not, but I want to believe. (Shut up CAIN) Choose: Big E.
Kyle Decker: There is really no clear winner in the declared field. I love Big E, but I would expect him to be moved to the bottom of the card instead of winning the Rumble. (I Wants Instead, I think Roman nails Brock out of the WWE title and Brock won the Rumble to get back on track to meet them in the WrestleMania. Now watch the men’s Rumble open the show to make this entire prediction moot. Choose: Brock Lesnar
Claire Elizabeth: Calling a brutal big shot here – Roman lost earlier in the show to helping Kevin Owens to his new best friend, went into Rumble, won, and challenged Brock at WrestleMania because this is the biggest match they can be sure of why it doesn’t. Choose: Roman Reigns
Cain what nightThe winner will be either Brock Lesnar or Omos. If WWE wanted Big E to be in the WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 38, they would have kept the title on day one. Choose: Brock Lesnar
Stella Cheeks: There was practically no build for this game. Most of the excitement centered on the women’s rumble with the announcement of the return of legends and the possibility of Rossi’s return. The fact of the matter is that most men’s lists are one clue after another. He’s almost certainly going to be one of the guys who’s going to lose early in the night. They don’t want to write a new story. This or is Omos. So… eh… let’s say pick: Brock Lesnar
Marcus Benjamin: sigh. Actually, no, Le Sigh. I wish it was Big E. I really am. But the man’s face is on the back of a milk carton since it went missing so cleanly Seth Rollins. I picked it up on our podcast (this is CageSide Seats: The Podcast), so I have to stick to my calling. Choose: Omos
WWE Championship: Brock Lesnar vs Bobby Lashley
Gino Morsko: I find it impossible to accurately predict Brock Lesnar’s matches, seeing as Vince McMahon has such a weak spot for him. If the plan is to get Reigns back, he has to lose somewhere and that would make sense here. But I can’t see it. I do not know. Choose: Brock Lesnar
Sean Reuter: If Brock wasn’t supposed to win that title, dropping him seems like a logical course correction. Plus, he wouldn’t be hurt by the loss while it would be a big deal for All Mighty. Choose: Bobby Lashley
Kyle Decker: For the Rumble pick to make sense, Bobby has to win here. Choose: Bobby Lashley
Claire Elizabeth: According to my chart above, I expect Brock to hold the title until WrestleMania, which is just really convenient, because they always know exactly what they’re doing with Lesnar, and they don’t seem to have the slightest idea how to present Bobby Lashley as Armageddon who walks for a very long time, so… Choose: Brock Lesnar
Cain what night: I don’t know how that happens, but I think Bob is the title winner. Otherwise all of Lesnar’s jokes about not knowing who Lashley is is kind of a burial man. Losing gives Brock a better reason to get into the Royal Rumble and win. Choose: Bobby Lashley
Stella Cheeks: They should get back to Roman vs. Brock somehow. Fortunately, that means my son Bobby Lashley has got a W Pick: Bobby Lashley
Marcus Benjamin: the. All. Jabbar. Obtains. the. W Peak: Bobby Lashley
Universal Championship: Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins
Gino Morsko: I think Rollins loses here but wins later in the night, as mentioned earlier. Choose: Roman Reigns
Sean Reuter: They could misrepresent us with a change of title here, but there should be a more realistic plan for the Roman era. I feel stupid just writing something about having a WWE plan, but it has to be there in this case, right? Choose: Roman Reigns
Kyle Decker: The Romans should not lose their belt for a short period of time. And if he wins tonight, I expect him to win something in the next few months. There is no reason to lose it now. Choose: Roman Reigns
Claire Elizabeth: Seth Rollins and his new friend Kevin Owens will outsmart the tribal leader, return the Universal Championship to Raw, and start his way to WrestleMania. And if you think about it, this is WWE, and Roman’s title was always going to end like this: awkwardly, abruptly and for someone who doesn’t really need to rip but won’t waste it either. Choose: Seth Rollins
Cain what nightRoman Reigns never loses Pay per view Premium live events. Even if Usos isn’t there to step in, Seth Rollins can always be cheated on by someone else. Will Paul Heyman intervene and save the chief of the tribe? Choose: Roman Reigns
Stella Cheeks: They made sure to remind us over and over that Roman didn’t defeat the Sith one-on-one so we know the size of the deal when Roman does. Choose: Roman Reigns
Marcus Benjamin: I mean Come. Rome Rome do not lose in clatter. Tribal Chief is a fan favorite in this match as nobody likes Seth Rollins – or dripping – so let’s not overthink it. Choose: Roman Reigns
Raw Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch vs. Dodrop
Gino Morsko: It’s good that Doudrop is in this position but there is no chance of winning this match. Choose: Becky Lynch
Sean Reuter: fka Piper Niven has been more impressive in the spotlight than Becky’s last competitor, but the only Big Time non-riders (MMA or NXT) is Bianca. Choose: Becky Lynch
Kyle Decker: strange go stub vs stub here. But it should allow Doudrop to show how awesome she is on a really big stage. But this will not lead to a win. Choose: Becky Lynch
Claire Elizabeth: I appreciate that they didn’t let Vi “Piper” Dodrop “Nevens” get lost in the dribbling after her main roster debut, but she’s not going to win here. Choose: Becky Lynch
Cain what night: As is often the case in WWE, the challenger began to be pushed too late to believe that she was a real threat to the champion. This is the easiest match on the card to predict. Choose: Becky Lynch
Stella Cheeks: I really like what Dodrop is doing in this row. She was tough and stuck to the mic with the champ. I hope that means she’s managed to outsmart the crowd and executives enough to be able to survive this coming loss from the Big Time Becks. Because DEF lost this match. Choose: Becky Lynch
Marcus Benjamin: Doudrop shines in this role and proves she can play in the main event sandbox. But she loses because her story is the same as Liv Morgan’s, and it’s the same story for most of the championship contenders: It’s my turn and I deserve to be photographed. Yep, that’s not enough to beat Becky Lynch on the stage of the featured live event. Choose: Becky Lynch
Edge and Beth Phoenix vs. The Miz and Maris
Gino Morsko: There’s really no reason at all to wear heels here. This is kind of a one time match, the kids’ faces will get a lot of glitter and everyone will have a good time. Choose: Edge and Beth Phoenix
Sean Reuter: Miz & Maryse couldn’t beat John Cena and Nikki Bella, and they weren’t even married. They stand no chance against true love. or grit. Choose: Edge and Beth Phoenix
Kyle Decker: There’s no reason Babyfaces here can’t win. There is no need to protect Miz and Maryse. Choose: The Copelands
Claire Elizabeth: The Big Boss is right that there is no reason to step over heels, but this is WWE and things have no reasons. The It Couple ends with cheating and then Beth has a weird match where Maryse makes her best impression on Toru Yano for forty seconds before Glam Slam crushes her, because that’s better than just winning a rematch, isn’t it? Choose: The Miz & Maryse
Cain what night: It would be very strange for Edge to lose to a mid-card player. Hopefully they do the obvious here and Beth wins the rematch. Choose: Edge and Beth Phoenix
Stella Cheeks: GRIT COUPLE Pick: Edge & Beth Phoenix
Marcus Benjamin: Beth Phoenix does not come back to lose. Choose: Edge and Beth Phoenix
This is how we see the card in play.
